It seems like yours is so much more modern than mine. And it's a lot more... abridged? I think it kind of takes away from the spirit of the story. No offense! Your interpretation of the story is beautiful! I just don't like the version you're using...
Yeah. I can see where you're coming from. IG mentioned that a lot of us here in the USA are stuck with abridged versions and not-so-good translations. But since I can't read [or speak] French, I'm a little stuck for the moment.
I've taken French for about six years. I'll be taking AP French this year.
I also spent a few weeks overseas last summer through a fine arts camp group, and spent three of my days in France. I had never been able to speak French fluently, but I was in a dire situation when my roommates spoke no French and my host family spoke no English!
I think that the stress caused by no communication caused my skills to kick into high gear and suddenly it was as though I had spent all my life in France! Weird but cool, I think.
