The wind ceased and Raoul sat back while staring at his reflection in the now silent mirror. There was only one word buzzing around in his ears now. A name. A name that left a cold shiver coursing through his veins.
"Who is this Erik?" he asked himself. The empty mirror left him with no answer.
Deep below, in the total darkness, Christine called out for her angel to save her. She could see nothing but black and the little red light off in the distance. Taking a step forward, she was soon stopped when a cold boney thing reached out and snatched up her wrist. Her mouth was clamped shut by another icey hand. Behind her, a massive shadow formed with a white skull on its shoulders, its one yellow eye piercing the darkness. Christine struggled and fainted away when a hazey red surrounded her vision.

Ooo, red mist once again. This truly reminds me of Edgar Allen Poe's poem 'Red Death'. Which I have read and must say it is quite good, if not slightly morbid, and hope crushing.
You really did a marvelous job on the dinosaur skull. Very nice.
Yes!! Poe!!! I love him!! ^_________^ The 'Red Death', I thought, was amazing. But my fave is still the Raven... Once did a dramatic reading of it for my church group. x3 I think they liked it. Some people are still talking about it and it was like three years ago. Lol!
Ah the Raven, another one of my favorites. Honestly it is difficult for me to chose my favorite of Poe's works.
I sat and stared at a dinosaur skull to try and get it right when I drew it on your birthday gift...still not completely sure I managed it. Skulls are just generally hard, whether dinosaur, animal, or human. There is just something about them.
And I know what you mean. The only decent skulls I've drawn are the ones I had to draw for class last year. So much anatomy lessons that semester. o.o! Not sure if they actually helped or not. T-T
Well you did something right because your skulls look great, never so far has Erik ever had a mask quite so awesome looking. I think it being a Dinosaur's skull really adds a great creative tough to the design.
Yeah. I'd like to think it's better than a friend's suggestion when I first started BN. He said, "if they're all going to be animals, then make him a human!" Blah. Nyu.
That certainly is an interesting suggestion...but completely weird. I mean, then Raoul could just EAT him. The challenge posed between human lion is not exactly...unpredictable. Then again, this is Erik we are talking about... but I still like the skeletal mask better.
I know. Phil [my buddy] is a real nice guy and knows more about the story of PotO than I honestly do myself. But that suggestion was really strange. >.>

I'm so bad at skulls, I think.

Blah. Nyu.
